Cork is stripped from the living tree without felling it, and the bark grows back — the only cover we use that is harvested rather than made. It does not scuff, it does not stain, it wipes clean, and it is warm in the hand on the first cold morning of December. A sheet of it over 2.5mm board, sewn as a block so it opens dead flat; A5, 144 pages of 100 GSM paper, in dot grid, ruled or unruled.

Care
Handloom and cotton covers are textile — keep them out of prolonged direct sun and away from water. Cork and kraft wipe clean with a dry cloth. The spine will soften with use; that is the book settling, not wearing out.
