Shipping, returns & policies

Every order is bound and dispatched from our bindery in Tondiarpet, Chennai. Orders leave us in 2–4 working days; delivery across India typically takes a further 3–7 working days depending on your pincode.

Shipping is free pan-India on orders over ₹799. Below that it is a flat ₹100.

Customised and foil-stamped orders are made to your specification, so they take longer — we agree a date with you in writing before we begin, and we send a proof for approval before anything is cut.

We currently ship within India only. If you are ordering from outside India, write to us at hello.thepapercollective@gmail.com and we will quote you directly.

If a notebook is unused, you can return it within 7 days of delivery. Write to us at hello.thepapercollective@gmail.com or message +91 98842 52072 and we will arrange collection or reimburse return postage. Refunds are issued to the original payment method once the book reaches us, usually within 5 working days.

If a book arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, tell us within 48 hours with a photograph and we will replace it at our cost — no return needed for damage in transit.

Customised and foil-stamped orders cannot be returned, because they are made to your specification and cannot be resold. That is exactly why we send a proof for approval before binding — please check it carefully.

Handloom ikat and cotton covers vary from book to book. Natural variation in weave, dye and grain is a property of the material, not a fault, and is not grounds for return — though if a cover is genuinely not as described, we want to hear about it.

Prices are in Indian Rupees and inclusive of all taxes. We may change prices at any time, but never after an order is confirmed. Products are subject to availability; where something is out of stock we will tell you before taking payment and you may cancel for a full refund.

Orders are placed on this website and paid online at checkout, through Razorpay, by UPI, card or net banking; we do not take cash on delivery. An order is confirmed when the payment is received, and you get an email confirming the order, then another with the tracking details once it ships.

Photographs on this site are of the actual products. Because the covers are handmade, the book you receive will vary slightly from the one photographed.

Copy, photography and design on this site belong to Sayee Paperworks LLP. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Chennai.

We collect the minimum needed to bind your book and get it to you: your name, delivery address, phone number and email, plus whatever you tell us about a custom order.

We use it to fulfil your order and to answer your questions. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone beyond the courier who delivers your parcel. If you sign up for our newsletter, we use your email only for that, and every message has an unsubscribe link.

Your bag on this site is stored in your own browser (localStorage), not on our servers, and it never leaves your device until you choose to send it to us.

If you open an account, we keep your name, your email address and — if you set one — a scrambled form of your password that cannot be turned back into it. Signing in with Google tells us only your name and verified email address; we never see your Google password. The account exists so you can see your own orders, nothing more.

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — write to hello.thepapercollective@gmail.com and we will action it within 30 days.
